FOR TEACHERS

http://www.fundforteachers.org/about-us.php

Fund For Teachers is an excellent funding resource for your programs (it is also Texas based). The application process is relatively simple and it allows you the opportunity to study (anywhere in the world!) whatever program you design for your students.

Donors Chooseis another favorite funding resource for teachers.  It is a simple process that allows donors to select a classroom and contribute funds.  Many teachers I know have had success using Donors Choose.

Indiegogo is an international fundraising resource.  Although a great portion of the campaigns are for independent filmmaking, there are other categories such as “community” which supports health and education issues.  Well worth browsing to see how others are funding their communities’ ideas and needs.

Kickstarter, like Indiegogo, is another web platform for fundraising.  Think big, design a project your town or school needs and build a campaign.  Extraordinary support from this site.

http://www.foxfire.org/thefoxfirebooks.aspx    The Foxfire Book Series began with a teacher and his high school class in rural Appalachia, documenting the local culture and history and publishing a quarterly newsletter.  It’s a series worth investigating.
